Tequila Cocktails

Tequila is a spirited foundation for many popular cocktails, best known for its role in the classic Margarita. Here's a variety of tequila-based cocktails with the ingredient measurements in milliliters:

  1. Margarita:

    • 50 ml Tequila
    • 20 ml Triple sec (like Cointreau)
    • 20 ml Fresh lime juice
    • Salt for the rim (optional)
    • Lime wheel for garnish

Rub the rim of the glass with the lime slice to make the salt stick to it. Take a chilled margarita glass and dip it into the salt. Shake the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice with ice and strain into the glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.

  2. Tequila Sunrise:

    • 60 ml Tequila
    • 120 ml Orange juice
    • 15 ml Grenadine syrup
    • Orange slice and cherry for garnish

Pour the tequila and orange juice into an ice-filled glass, and then add the grenadine, which will sink and slowly rise to mix with the other ingredients naturally. Garnish with the orange slice and cherry.

  3. Paloma:

    • 50 ml Tequila
    • 15 ml Lime juice
    • Grapefruit soda to top up
    • Salt for the rim (optional)
    • Lime or grapefruit wedge for garnish

Salt the rim of a highball glass if desired. Fill the glass with ice and add the tequila and lime juice. Top up with grapefruit soda and stir gently. Garnish with a lime or grapefruit wedge.

  4. Tequila Sour:

    • 50 ml Tequila
    • 25 ml Fresh lemon juice
    • 15 ml Simple syrup
    • Half an egg white (optional for frothiness)
    • Angostura bitters for garnish (optional)
    • Lemon or lime twist for garnish

Shake the tequila, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white (if using) vigorously with ice. Strain into a chilled glass. If you like, add a few dashes of Angostura bitters on the frothy egg white and garnish with a twist.

  5. Mexican Mule:

    • 50 ml Tequila
    • 15 ml Fresh lime juice
    • Ginger beer to top up
    • Lime wheel for garnish

Fill a mule mug with ice, add the tequila and lime juice, and top up with ginger beer. Stir gently and garnish with a lime wheel.

  6. El Diablo:

    • 50 ml Tequila
    • 15 ml Crème de cassis
    • 15 ml Lime juice
    • Ginger beer or ginger ale to top up
    • Lime wheel for garnish

Shake tequila, lime juice, and crème de cassis with ice. Strain into an ice-filled collins glass and top up with ginger beer or ginger ale. Garnish with a lime wheel.

  7. Matador:

    • 45 ml Tequila
    • 90 ml Pineapple juice
    • 15 ml Fresh lime juice
    • Pineapple slice and lime wheel for garnish

Shake all the ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice and a lime wheel.

  8. Juan Collins:

    • 50 ml Tequila
    • 30 ml Lemon juice
    • 15 ml Agave syrup
    • Club soda to top up
    • Lemon wedge for garnish

Add the tequila, lemon juice, and agave syrup to an ice-filled collins glass. Top with club soda and stir well. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
