Masataka Taketsuru is the founder of Nikka Whisky Distilling. In 1918 this aspiring Japanese whisky distiller travelled to Scotland to learn organic chemistry and the malt whisky production process. 2 years later he returned to Japan after marrying Glasgow lass, Jessie Roberta "Rita" Cowan, and established Nikka Whisky Distilling in 1934 after working with Kotobukiya for several years. Nikka Hi Mild Blended is a 39% ABV Japanese Blended Whisky that was first launched in 1964 and was named after the invention and evolution of Hi-Fi sound. Nikka Hi Mild Blended is velvet-smooth and flows across the palate like Japanese liquid gold!
